CABUSTAM YOUTH CONGRESS 2016
THEME: "The Eucharist: Source and Summit of the Youth Ministry"@Immaculate Conception Parish, Cantilan, Surigao del Sur

CABUSTAM YOUTH CONGRESS is a gathering of the youth ministers and leaders in the sub-region of the Archdiocese of Cagayan de Oro, Diocese of Butuan, Diocese of Surigao, Diocese of Tandag, Diocese of Malaybalay.
Day 1
Anchor Verse: "For I received from the Lord what I also handed to you..." 1 Cor. 11:23It was started with an Opening Mass presided by His Excellency Most Rev. Antonio J. Ledesma, SJ, D.D. from the Archdiocese of Cagayan de Oro in which he highlighted how important the Holy Eucharist in the life of the young people in faith.
It was followed by the Sadya sa Kadalanan- a parade of the Festivals of festivalso f the different archdiocese and dioceses of the region.
Right after the Sadya sa Kadalanan, the Hudyaka sa Kabatan-onan: 2016 CABUSTAM Youth Congress Welcome Night which was showcasing the different cultures and spots of the host diocese with their talents of the participating schools.
Day 2
Anchor Verse: "And, after He given thanks, broke it and said, ""This is my body that is for you "1 Cor. 11:24
The catechises 1 was given by the guest speaker Most Rev. Severo C. Caermare, D.D., the MSPCYC Bishop In-charge with the theme "The Eucharist and the Youth in the Modern Age.
He said the Eucharist is a thanksgiving to all the gifts we have receive everyday in our lives. He said also the our capacity to THANK depends on the capacity we THINK. Bishop D.D emphasizes that the true meaning of LOVE is JESUS CHRIST. "The heart may stop its beating but the man laid His life on the cross never stop loving us"
After the catechesis, we had a GALLERY WALK / EXHIBIT to show the beautiful spots and happenings of the arch/ dioceses.
It was followed by the Eucharistic Celebration presided by Rev. Msgr. Arturo Langit, the Episcopal Vicar of Diocese of Tandag, and the homily given by Rev. Fr. Jeffrey Balanay, Youth Director of the Diocese of Iligan. And the last activity of the day was the Eucharistic Adoration with Confession.
Day 3
Anchor Verse: "In the same also the cup, after supper, saying, "this cup is the new covenant in My blood. do this, as often as you drink it in remembrance of me. "
1 Cor. 11:25
The day was started with the Eucharistic Celebration presided by the Most Rev. Juan de Dios M. Pueblos, D.D., Bishop of the Diocese of Butuan.
He said that as a CABUSTAM Youth, we should not be afraid to proclaim and share Jesus Christ our friends. and do not be afraid to tell the world of His love. through the risen Christ, we are challenges to face the world with renewed strength and courage. Lastly he said, Loving Lord is like FB, He can be OUR FRIEND, you can like Him but you cannot UNFRIEND HIM!
Next, the catechesis 2: The Eucharist and the Environment given by Rev. Fr. Emmanuel Dumadag, DCT. He said the the environment is very important in our lives especially in the Eucharist. Environment is connected in the Eucharist through the preparation of the gifts because it was earth has given and human hands have made.He also added the quote of Bp. Pabillo that "we can't celebrate the Eucharist if we neglect the environment."
It was followed by a PILGRIM WALK TO INA POON BATO for almost two hours under the heat of sun. but it is very nice and beautiful experience to see the creation of God.
Lastly, the DUYOM NAN PASUNDAYAG: 2016 CABUSTAM YC SOCIAL NIGHT was followed which was the Diocese of Butuan was announced as the winner of the presentation with a theme all about drugs.

It was the last day of the congress and i'm started to feel missing them already especially to my foster family, my foster brothers: John Dominic Pantilla, Melchor Manza, Paul Aldrin Olvez, Jeffrey Ragas, Michael John Payot and my foster sister Jem Marie Billona and with nanay Lolita Corcuera and her Family.
It was ended with the Eucharistic celebration in the parish church as a send-off mass,after that a culminating activity was conducted and passing the responsibility to the new host of the CABUSTAM, the Diocese of Malaybalay.
